PAYE follows the bands

Income tax is progressive: only the dollars inside a band receive that band’s rate. The calculator keeps that distinction visible instead of applying one rate to the whole salary.

ACC has a cap

The ACC earners’ levy is applied to earnings up to the published annual maximum for the selected tax year. Higher salaries do not pay the levy on every dollar.

Benefits are separate

Employer KiwiSaver contributions are not taken from your salary, and Working for Families, bonuses, secondary jobs and other deductions are outside this simple estimate.
